Office 2007
The latest version of Microsoft Office was released in January 2007. There are significant differences between the look and feel of Office 2003 and Office 2007.
Office 2003 will continue to be the supported version at the University at this time. (See Rollout Schedule for more info.)
Office 2007 is planned to be rolled out in all student labs for the beginning of Semester 2, 2008. This time has been chosen to give teaching staff time to prepare course notes and exercises that may be impacted by this change. It is envisaged that staff will have access to Office 2007 around the same time - however, as corporate applications (Student 1 and Finance 1) are currently not compatible with Office 2007, users of these system will need to remain with Office 2003.
As with any introduction of new technologies there will always be early adopters of the software. If there are staff members with requirements to teach with or use Office 2007, ahead of the planned rollout, please contact you local ICT support area for assistance.
